About the Role Uber Direct enables merchants to unlock last-mile delivery by tapping into Uber's expansive logistics network and marketplace. Delivering a high-quality, reliable experience is central to our value proposition-ensuring orders are fulfilled efficiently, consistently, and at scale. As a Strategic Operations Manager on the Direct Ops team, you will drive improvements across key operational pillars including reliability, merchant experience, and overall delivery quality for the US&C Direct business. This role blends strategic thinking with hands-on execution, requiring strong problem-solving, operational optimization, data analysis, and project management skills. You should be comfortable navigating ambiguity, working in a fast-paced environment, and taking ownership of complex, cross-functional initiatives. In this highly collaborative role, you will partner with teams across Local Operations, Commercial, Marketplace Operations, Product, and Finance to identify opportunities, execute initiatives, and scale best practices across the business. You will leverage data to uncover insights, diagnose root causes of operational challenges, and inform decision-making across a variety of domains. Depending on focus areas, this may include improving merchant performance, optimizing fulfillment and delivery workflows, or enhancing overall system reliability. This is a highly analytical role that requires strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with large datasets to drive measurable business impact.
